If i did get therapy for it, which everyone is telling me i need to do because my fear has become so unhealthy now, what would they do to me?

I don’t know what they could do because at this point I can’t even look at a cartoon drawing of a snake without hyperventilating. it’s really bad

the good news is that the treatments for phobias (and anxiety disorders in general) is very effective in most situations.

if you decided to pursue therapy, you would probably do something called systematic desensitization. this is a type of therapy in which you combine relaxation skills with increasingly distressing thoughts about your fear until the phobic agent is less anxiety-producing. it works very well for most phobic disorders

I am a great artist but I am having no luck selling my art, I can’t seem to get anybody interested even when I advertise and even show pictures of it. is it because they are cartoon and digitally drawn art? Does no one want that kind of art? is it only painted portrait art that people want? Surely people would want to buy it for their kids or kids want it for their room or whatever. It is like anthropomorphic art and animals and stuff, very elegant and pretty

http://praiselorddorian.piczo.com

look in the art section

People will only buy art if they see something they like and the work looks as if it has value by showing consistent levels of craft expertise, by that I mean the art work has to appeal to audiences and not just the artist. This is not a criticism of you but too many people fall into that trap considering themselves "self proficient" when starting out, by all means believe that an artist only makes art for themselves (which most do) but also believe there is no point making art for the sake of it where nobody is ever going to be interested in what you are about (why you make art in the first place), when that happens you are making art for all the wrong reasons I am afraid to say.

If you are serious about wanting to establish selling your artwork why not make up a portfolio of what you concider to be your best work and include work in progress, then take it all along to an art gallery in your area to hear their opinion and see if they will sell the work on your behalf. After all they are the people who understand the regional art market best, you can also create further marketing for yourself by leaving your business card and write a personal statement explaining your interests and concerns, people always like to read and know a little more about an artist’s bio.

I have seen your website displayed work and in all honesty I wondered what it really was all about, there seemed too many conflcting imagery that detracted my attention, your site was overtly overkill. So in answering your own question "does no one want that kind of art?" I would have to say I don’t think it is the quality of the artwork but more the context of how the artwork is displayed IMHO of course. In other words what sort of people do you need to be attracting and how can you make your work show an intregity that goes beyond the concept of where it is now. Perhaps suppling digital illustrations to support childrens stories might be an area to investigate in depth where you could target a specific marketplace via a publisher, if it is indeed the commercial aspect of art that you are motivated by.

she can speak in her two yr old way, in english chinese and spanish and count in those languages as well. she can say hello and good bye in japanese as well. she can do up to four different puzzles at a time. she knows all of her letters and numbers up to 20. she can write most of them as well she is trying to learn how to spell simple words-hat cat dog GOD etc. and she can draw most simple fruit and animals and some of her fave cartoon characters elmo etc. she she loves the your babycan read programs that i bought her. she is figuring out how to add with her fingers (1 and 1 is 2 etc). she recognizes and can namee alot of animals and plants. she loves to sing and dance and loves david beckham (go figure). i she can use her little computer thati bought her. she can name most colors and light and dark colors(light blue dark blue etc.) even peach!
i am considering homeschooling her and her sister for a few years each up to possibly junior high.
let me balance these things by saying that she enjoys being out side and playing in the dirt and playing basketball and soccer and football.

You asked if you are working her too hard mentally. It is difficult to know if you are just by knowing what she can do. Is it your requirement that she knows all this or does she know all this because she enjoys learning and absorbing information? If it is the latter then no, I doubt you are, you are just feeding her brain and she will enjoy it.
Is it important to you that she knows all this at three? What do you imagine for her future, will you push for her to have the future you imagine or are you are just trying to open as many doors as possible? Your own answers to these questions will help you realise if you are pushing her too much.

There are a few important things that I think make some children stand out among others and that is the ability to accept loss and failure, the ability to win and be proud but not arrogant. The ability to play and interact well with other children and especially with empathy and kindness. Personal skills and great Imagination are more important than academic success, they will take a child further in life and will be with a child long after university is a distant memory!

Assume for a second, whether you agree or not, that music and drawing living things are both haraam. I keep hearing these things, and I have some questions regarding each of them.

First, assuming music is haraam. If it is wrong to listen to music for the sake of listening to music, why is it acceptable to watch a television program or movie, or play a video game, that has songs in them? I don’t mean the news, I mean for the purpose of entertainment. If music takes ones attention away from Allah, how does watching television and movies not do the same? If music leads to feeling better or worse about oneself (and this is wrong), or it leads to bad behaviors, how does watching television and movies not do the same? Exactly what is it one uses to justify whether intentionally exposing themselves to music is haraam or halal?

Now, assuming drawing living things is haraam, as well as assuming viewing/taking pleasure in those drawings is haraam as well. Please tell me what it is that justifies the following things as halal, while "in general" any other drawing would be haram: avatars of human beings/animals, cartoons/anime, video games, political artwork, etc. If drawing represents humans trying to "create" in the same way as Allah, what then about computers and other technology, or toys? Exactly what is it one uses to justify whether a drawing is haram or halal, and why is it drawings are haram yet other of mans inventions are not?

Are these things dependent on personal taste, and do most people simply look the other way if it is something they themselves enjoy/partake in? If one believes these things are haraam, are they not responsible for not participating in them? Or is it only their responsibility to chastize others while they only "partially" do wrong themselves?

Intention.
if your comfortable with something more than someone else, that makes your intention stronger and also your resolve.
your intention is all that matters, and if you are not hurting yourself or others then you should be fine with anything your doing for the sake and pleasure of Allah SWT and Allah SWT alone. InshAllah amin.

There is limits that he set and we don’t break them for a reason, surely we dont’ want to bring evil upon ourselves from something we made or did.

The theme song had these lines in it
"Did you ever wanna paint did you ever wanna draw did you ever wanna recreate anything at all" and it ended with "You too can do it, when you’re in pappy land"

I was wondering if it is still on TV sometimes and if not if there is any where I can find them online. I loved this show when I was a kid and now I want my brother to see it

Im not sure where you can find since they dont air it anymore but it was on PBS if that helps.

Apparently I’m "well good" at drawing for my age. I always draw womens faces. I’m no good at shading or making it look 3D, but people say it’s the eyes on my drawings that are so great. It’s good to know I might be good at something. I draw with my mum and it runs in the family. So I can draw somethings – rabbits, dogs, womens faces, simple but accurate observational drawings, cartoons. But I CANNOT draw human figures! Nor men! Or lots of animals (although i drew a RATHER FANTASTIC vole in my science book! yay me). I’ve had millions of books on drawing, but they’re too advanced for me What are some books/online guides to help me with this as I’m really interested in taking my "natural talents" further (which are apparently drawing and writing)

Sorry for all the long words that is sooooo not like me lol
any help? if YOU have any personal advice then that would be great too

Check out the Library…They have a section on Art and drawing …Will give you a chance to sample books without paying tons of money and being disappointed…It will not only help you how to improve your technique…but also give you ideas on what to draw…There are several types…People…Landscape…Etc…Good Luck Take Care

Well, This probably won’t make sense to most people so I’ll try my best to explain it:

Is there any guides that will teach me how to color in a picture (such as a cartoon, animal, or something, with shading and lighthing. Because when I try to color in a picture with MS paint it looks a bit, wierd.

Heres an Example:

Mine looks wierd: http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/penguinartist/Untitled-2-3.png all flat, and no shading and stuff. <- was just a quick drawing I did for an example.

heres a decent piece: http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo237/penguinartist/6128.png it has shading, and lighting.

OR could someone just link me to some sort of guide to drawing something similar to that ^^

Other Examples:

http://www.squiby.net/preview/7037.png
http://www.squiby.net/preview/7167.png

Pretty much most of the work thats seen on squiby.net

I want to learn how to draw better. Pretty much the only thing I know to do is to sketch on paper, then send it to the computer and then color it, but my main problem is coloring, but I also would like to learn better drawing
I want to learn to draw, I just don’t know where to start ::D
I’m sorry, you guys aren’t reading, I’ve googled everywhere. I don’t see any guides that teach me how to draw stuff like those squiby things ^^

Taking classes would be a good start. It’s hard to be a good artist unless you know the basics of drawing. Also, you can search for tutorials online. Most of all, practice makes it perfect.

Oh, and MS paint…even the best digital artists have hard time working with MS paint.

Like morphing into a cartoon, but i want to make the cartoon move. but also want to start them out as people first. Sort of like what mtv does in room raiders and other shows that show people and they do motion and make them into animals robots or whatever. I would like to do it with out as much drawing. is that possible? i have adobe cs4 photoshop.
i will check into the adobe flash!

You’d probably want to use flash and create a keyframe with the original image, then 300 frames out, put the final picture in. change the framerate to 100, and insert a shape tween on that layer. you should have a smooth morph.

I’m pretty good at drawing cartoon characters and everybody I know tells me to write a children’s book or comic strip. (My characters are more cute than realistic. They’re not like Marvel style, but kin to Disney or Garfield. I can draw almost any kind of animal.) The thing is I’m afraid I’m not too whitty when it comes to the dialog. Are there any resources to help me with this?

Most people said i kinda good at drawing manga. But u need to think of a plot (which is the hardest part of making a storyline). Is it about love? Adventure? Funny? Just think of one or more and put them to one.

Add as much details as u can. More is better, i mean description and make sure the readers understand them. Read cartoons from other cartoonists and maybe they’ll give u an idea.

If u draw well (i guess i can trust u draw well), draw a picture and add background to it. Trees and plants? Mountains? Home? U know wat i mean! (or do u?)

How does it end? Sad? Funny? Happy? Make the audience enjoy your cartoons!

Of course u need at least a paper (with no lines), pencil, an eraser, and ruler ( to make line for bubbles). Draw big boxes, draw pictures, draw background, dialogs, bubbles, words, etc.

That’s all i can think. So if my advice helps, good luck being a cartoonist!
